General carpark is a few hundred yards from hotel entrance, hotel itself has character but needs refurbishment, looking tired. We went for New Year, Black Tie celebration, at least 10-20% of guest were allowed in without adhering to dress code, I noticed at least 2 males in jeans & open neck shirt, food was just about passable, service was chaotic at times, needs a lot of improvement to warrant the "Black Tie" tag. Rooms themselves were acceptable but certainly not 4* as advertised. The staff were friendly & helpful. Not a place I would revisit in a hurry, disappointed by the experience.

I recently had my wedding at hellaby hall, what can I say? Wow..... It was a million times better than I ever imagined, the staff were fantastic, the venue was stunning, all my guests commented on the exceptional food. The wedding coordinator Dave was unbelievable, and an exceptionally talented man, he was with me every step of the way, he made sure the day ran smoothly and I was happy at all times. If I could do it all over again, I would most definitely do it here. Highly highly recommended.Amanda and Dave Smith

We had a fantastic New Year's party - the food was wonderful & my dietary needs were met throughout all the meal. The staff were so helpful & nothing was too much trouble.I certainly look forward to staying at this hotel again

Went here for a week on a college course and it was nice. The problems I found were the decor - the corridors all look identical (I got lost loads) and a bit boring. Spice it up a little like the reception! The outside looks so nice, but the inside lets it down. Beds are a little hard too. The bar is nice, there like 3 separate rooms and I had one to myself while I did some drawing a few times. 4 stars seems a little too prestigious for the economy rooms. Don't know what the expensive ones are like though.

We like Hellaby Hall Hotel. Handy for East Pennine Assembly Hall. Standard rooms can be noisy as they are on the main corridor. Executive are quieter. Breakfast is more than ample for any appetite and always freshly cooked. Friendly staff, very obliging. A friend complained about the smell of drains in their standard room and were upgraded to executive, so they did very well.
